Sam Hutchings is a luthier based in central Brittany in France. He has been building all kinds of stringed instruments for over 20 years and now specialises in banjo construction. He also runs
Justecordes with his wife Steph, a music store well known in France for their instruments and accessories for Old Time and Bluegrass music.
His banjos are based around his exacting block rims and include 5 string models for Old Time and Bluegrass, 4 string models for Irish and Jazz, Banjoleles and custom instruments.
Lightweight banjos are a particular speciality, featuring wood tonerings and pop on resonators. They are all entirely handmade by Sam, his expertise, combined with best quality parts and materials results in a very special instrument.
